Egypt completely removed the Internet thanks to its corrupt government. It may be likely that the U.S. government may remove the Internet from us ! My prayers are with the real demonstrators in Egypt . Sadly I agree that 90 % could be taken down very easy , the only way would be older Dial Up connections , but if there is no search engines , than you better have lots of servers in your bookmarks , but if it got to the point where they were shutting the net down , i doubt you would be doing much thinking about being on it . I think you would be too busy guarding your family and trying to find out what your cash can buy , Silver is a great buy right now , but if government wants to make any money they would have to put it all back up quickly , everything is run over the net here in the states as far as banking , Stock Trading etc . Satellite Internet is operated primarily by the largest ISPs anyways. For the most part, they'll come down with the rest of the 'net without too much extra work, If things got so bad in the U.S.A that they had to shut the net down , it would be a pretty bad situation , I'm lucky I'm on Dial Up right now , have been for 14 years , every once in awhile i get WiFi & it's blazing fast . most of what i do besides MW's is Text Based stuff , any working BBS would become Blogger Central QC io9.com/5746338/could-a-us-government-crackdown-take-america-off-the-internet

I have dsl, after two years of sucky dial out.Love it.We should have a choice of what we look at.No porn should be allowed though. To protect the children.I am concerned about Egypt being under military law. Also,I forget the name of Mubaraks possible replacement, but have heard he wouldn't be any better.
