The next President of the United States, indeed new leaders around the World, will face many difficult challenges while in office. The dynamics of the Modern World demand new progressive thought, insight and vision as never before known to Mankind. Defining, understanding and planning for managing World dynamics will require the cooperation and intellect of all World leaders to develop a process for improving social conditions around the World. If we, leaders of the World, ignore this responsibility at this moment in our World’s history we’ll not only be scorned by future historians, but more importantly miss the chance to make a marked difference in World Society. In addition, major Industrialists in our World will be needed to participate in this process. Industrialists rule over the “machinery”, if you will, the World runs on. Scientists and Religious leaders should participate equally in the process as hard scientific facts and
Social/Religious concerns are all part of the an ultimate solution to our World problems.
The first issues at hand would be the forum for such a process and who would be invited or requested to participate. I would first suggest the use of the Internet for such an endeavor not to exclude a physical location. The Internet would make it possible for anyone in the public sector with Internet access to read and or view broadcasts of the process as it unfolds. I would suggest we establish a Public Internet site for the process and the kick off would be a World wide request for World Leaders to sign on to the process. Each Leader could be sent by diplomatic courier their unique “sign on” and password. Once the initial participants are established a physical location for a kickoff meeting would be needed to get the process moving.
One might say, “why not use the United Nations for this process……isn’t that what it’s for?”. Well, in my opinion the UN is an old mode for such a process. I would suggest World Leadership start with a “clean slate” and elect a new physical location, hopefully construed to be a neutral one politically and religiously, although the UN could be a good place for the kickoff meeting. In addition, my suggestion would be to build a new structure with a new name designed/built and named by designers and craftsman from all of the participating countries. The new World Leader meeting place should be an Icon for World Peace and Cooperation.
The next issue would be to establish an agenda and prioritize the agenda by membership vote.
The next issue is getting to work.
Here are some of my suggestions for the agenda……no priorities assigned:
1) Strategies for redistributing wealth in the world to minimize overwhelming poverty that sows the seeds of radicalism.
A) Establish a global minimum standard of living for housing/food and access to healthcare and education
2) Make efforts to constructively engage radical groups around the World to better understand grievances they have with current Political/Religious/Social/Economic modalities and develop a plan for peaceful co-existence and improvement.
3) World Health issues
4) World Air/Water and Food issues
5) World Social/Religious awareness issues
6) Global warming
7) World transportation issues
8) Making the transition from a World economy that runs on war to a World that runs on Peace
To conclude, World population has grown to levels never before seen. We have the responsibility as World Leaders to recognize the dynamics of this change and make plans to live in Peace on this Earth. The Earth doesn’t expand with our population to a greater diameter and circumference with additional land masses and waterways to accommodate us. We must accommodate the Earth and one another in a way that’s Peaceful and in the best interests of one another no matter what color, Religion or Political affiliation. Let us challenge ourselves to be better stewards of the Earth and the condition of Mankind. We can improve the World we live in, but it will require the efforts of us all. Obviously I’ve over simplified and understated the issues at hand and their resolution, but we need to get going and work together for a better World, a Peaceful World, a tolerant World. QC
An answer to the question: If you were running for President, what would you say:
