Well lot's of you know i bought my first car , so i,m away from my desktop a lot now , but i carry a notebook with me it's hard to live a life & Run a proboards Forum at the same time so if any of you guys see a real big news Story i have added a Scouts Thread to The Quaalude Board . Write about it in that thread till the Administrators can Look it over . The AC had Gone out on me , IPfan helped show me a Trick that got it working again BTW i think his old lady had the Baby last night they headed to the Hospital no Word Yet from the New Mom & Daddy . OK i Got The Flu and am taking an antibiotic . and Then i want to Thank You All for These Stats because i have been inactive a few days and staff have been filling in . so Thank You All.

I got $125.00 for my Car i just spent $3000.00 on . my wrists are broken & i might go to Jail . Don't drink and drive , Stay Alive , and out of Trouble , i thank God for Air Bags . QC


i just hurt myself and a piece of concrete and woke people up , it could have been much worse , i'm Very Sorry , but i won't be posting as much , i,m counting on members and staff to keep the board running till i get well . i'll post when i can .

Ipfan one of our staff has had a Death in the Family His Grandmother ,
He Has Said he took Photos of the new Baby , He May Post Them , i'll let him fill us in if he wants to . He is Having a Rough time . Myself i went to view the very slight damage i did to the porch i hit , not bad 3 loose bricks pushed back an inch , and i,m sure shaken people , i should not feel so bad for the loss of my car i had bad reaction time , or this would not have took place . i,m wrapping coins to make ends meat .

Folks i,ve Had to go back to 512 mb's of ram ,down from a Gig , it seems one of the modules was causing The computer to shut Down while Browsing online , not a Good Thing , also a recent java Update caused Firefox to encounter problems , I Have to Have My Firefox . it's just The Better Browser . Very Easy to Turn off Java & Cookies . so i,m like Testing the limits of my FF Browser Now .Also i used it to Build The Quaalude Board all While on Dial Up , if the New Hardware Helps and i no longer get Knocked off line , I Will Be Making improvements to TQB & we are set for yet another Proboards Update , They promise Great Things . I Will Be Visiting Those Sites i have Affiliated With as They are Drawing in More Members , Also You Can Read My Posts at our Affiliates Sites . it's Cool , i,m Quaalude on Each of the Sites , So it Won't be hard to find my posts , A Big Shout Out to Jade for Helping with some Code issues & a Big Thank You To The Staff at Proboards Support for Taking time out with Questions i Had about Html Code . I was given the latitude xpi p133st by my boss at the computer shop i work part time at i took it apart and took the battery out to hopefully clear the Bios password , this did not work the bios is old Phoenix Rom plus Bios version 1.10 a03 heres the spec's i cant crack it & i had it transferred to my name as my personal property , so Dell has tried and gave me 6 master back door passwords none have worked , What should i do they said to call back in the morning ?

A long time back most passwords for the BIOS were stored in the BIOS and as such were easy to remove if you had access to the machine, usually you flipped a dip switch, set a jumper or removed the battery and that was it, password gone.........
So just how secure would a valuable laptop be if that was all there was to defeating the password ?, not very, that's how much.
So what have Dell done different.?
Dell have designed their laptops to store the password in something we call an EEPROM, it stands for "electrically erasable programmable read only memory", so in short even if you took the chip off the board and stored it till doomsday it would never lose its program.
So ignore what you hear about "removing the battery, setting a dip switch or moving a jumper, none of these, I REPEAT NONE OF THESE will get rid of the password on a Dell (except one model), there is only 1 proven method. I bet you wouldn't believe it but if you go in your junk drawer ( we all have one) I bet you could find a good old fashioned paperclip, that's right a paper clip, that and a small phillips screwdriver are all the tools you need to remove the password on a Dell Laptop, "get away" I hear you mutter, no honest, it's true and heres how to do it.
Like I said in the first page, the password is stored on a chip, located on the motherboard, all you need to do is locate it and then short 2 of the legs together, sounds to simple to be true doesn't it, but that is all you need to do.
OK I said it sounds simple to do however there are a couple of minor things I should point out, first the chip is quite small, in fact its about 0.5cm square, to get an idea look at the flying window logo on the windows key of your laptop keyboard, small logo eh ? well thats a rough size of the chip, now look at the size of the laptop, and picture your self trying to find that on the motherboard inside,
Now for the other bit of the fun, once you find the chip you have to short it out, this means having the laptop disassembled enough to get to the chip but in enough pieces to power it on to short it out, thats the fun part, I have received feedback from people who have resorted to cutting the metal plate that may cover the chip and short through that, others have soldered wires to the chip legs and run them outside the case to do the shorting method, how you go about it is entirely your choice, after all necessity is the mother of invention.
However you go about it the result will be the same, if done correctly the laptop should go into what is called the "manufacturing mode" and will display a message stating "Press FN + X" once this is done the password is cleared.

Ok so thats what the shorting procedure is, so how does shorting out a chip clear the password and whats the service tag I mentioned earlier, and what do I do once the password is gone..?
Every Dell Laptop has a unique service tag, its how Dell know what equipment you have and when it was manufactured, hence what warranty is left on it. you can find yours on the bottom of the machine on a sticker, it is usually on a white label with the words "service tag" and "express code" we dont care about the express code only the service tag, as this is the key to the password removal.
Once the shorting is done then your laptop has no service tag, you can see this by going into the BIOS of the laptop to the section where you would enter a password, you will see it says something like " Admin password cannot be set as no service tag is installed" . This is what you are aiming for as this is definite proof that your laptop no longer has a password installed.
So once the ST is cleared then as I said you can't set a password but that's not fair is it, it's your laptop and you deserve the right to have the same protection as anyone else, so that's where the DST software comes in, this software is a copy of the software used by Dell to replace\Install service tags and when its run will allow you to replace the service tag and thus the ability to set passwords on the laptop. Here is a diagram of the chip you are looking for, the leg marked 8 Vcc is the one that carries the current and should be avoided at all costs, there is mention that unsoldering this leg from the board and lifting it up is another method to service tag removal, however trying to unsolder this leg can be a hard job due to its size and is best left to someone with a steady hand.

Remember I said you can use a paper clip, well Paragon has devised a rather neat tool he calls his "Shorter" So all you need now is the location of the chip, well we have some pictures in the picture section and there are more in the Dellpass manual (see the dellpass link on the home page).
Now all you need is the "getup and go" so go on get on with it....

i,m Happy To Say the Notebook is Now Working all be it just running Windows 95 , i Think it would Be a Great Computer to Test Linux on , Well it's Late Saturday Night , Most of the Members are not Here , They Are Out Doing Saturday night Stuff . Theres a Chat Going on in The Chat Rooms But i can't make The Chat . i Have to Get some Chores Done , The Chat Topic is What Beer's Do You Like , So if You Drink , Maybe Thats The Chat For You . I wonder if i Can install Linux on This Thing it's only got one floppy Drive ? QC


BTW i owe the fixing of the notebook to a locked 2002 forum . thank God the Guy still had the same Email Addy . and He Could Help me Fix The Notebook to where it could be used.

i,m Alright Guys , ya know , the body needs sleep after so many BEERS , , then it takes a bit of time to sort out the Bottles and cans , we save the cans , they buy them Here 24 empty cans is one pound .60 cents .

They used to buy Glass but i,m not sure if they do any more , and then i always have at least 3 spam links i have to remove from This forum . Please if you have a link you want to share that is Porn , Do so in a PM , We Have Kids as Members -Get a Clue .

When you have a bad Liver , theres Good and Bad Days . i just had Coffee and my pain pills , Mum's went to market to get the weekend BEER . and some extra food . Extra blankets tonight in my neck of the woods -The temp is going to be around 5* F with windshields of 10 Below 0* F , 15 mile an Hour winds , i,m going to be staying inside , I have 4 Hours till Mum's BF Heads to Work and then i,m hitting the shower , i hate getting out of the shower with wet hair in the cold , we live in a large House , so even with the heat high and oh that gas Bill . it makes you want to stay Under the Covers , i have all those installs to do still . but nobody is coming out in this cold to buy computers anyway so i,m going to take it easy on the BEER , If you was drunk and went outside in this and happened to pass out , 15 min's tops your gone -Dead. -- i have a guy coming to get a cord back he gave to me . it's worth $40.oo i hope he's going to toss me something different worth same amount , i wanted the cord , it allows you 50 ft" you can have the monitor from the computer , the city i live in has it's good points but averages over 1000 murders a year , that makes it scary for a white boy like me out on the streets . i,m sure there are cities that are better and worse . i,m running low on pain meds , i'll have to call in my last script soon , then call the DR. to reorder another 6 bottles , these are Hydrocodone Watson 357 's .. I take Two or more as needed and 3, 5 mil Diazipams per day along with my Whiskey & Beer , thats why theres breaks in my Blog , i Guess , I,m low on kind Bud & Cigs too.

yeah , I think you'll do fine just no Drinking Smoking or Drugs - LoL , my 93 year old Grandfather is in the Hospital w/ Flu , my 50 year old uncle is in the hospital because call a Ride did not get him to Dialysis twice in one week and he's having heart problems , my father yelled at me about getting my suites ready , i just toast God & pray for whats Best , i,m knocking Down a BEER , and cleaning mobos with cigarette filters , checking out a rebroadcast of Art Bell , i,m Guessing ma's BF is Heading to Work - i,m hoping for a Client - Got lot's of Bills ya Know , I will be making this Forum Ad Free as soon as we reach $7.oo more in the Paypal , or if it just happens that a member does it again , Have a Safe Weekend Guy's QC
